Trey Williams was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated from Louisiana Tech in 2004 with a degree in Business Administration, then earned his MBA from LSU with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He began his career as a commercial real estate appraiser with Cook, Moore & Associates before spending the next 15 years as a commercial agent with NAI/Latter & Blum.
In 2020, Trey partnered with Donnie Jarreau to form JRE Capital, raising nearly $50 million in equity from primarily local investors—fueling more than $150 million in real estate acquisitions to date. As Managing Partner of JRE Companies, he oversees its various entities, focusing on operational efficiency and delivering outstanding results to partners.
Trey’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond real estate. In 2012, he co-founded the City Pork Restaurant Group (later sold to investors) and Southfin Southern Poké, where he remains an owner. This hands-on restaurant experience gave him a unique perspective—understanding real estate not only as a broker and investor, but also as a tenant.
He has earned the CCIM designation, and was named to Business Report’s “40 Under 40” in 2016. Trey has served on the boards of numerous nonprofits, including Hope Ministries, Baton Rouge Green, Manners of the Heart, and the Young Leaders Council of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry. He has also been involved with Heritage Ranch, Coastal Conservation Association, Delta Waterfowl, and Young Life, and is an active member of South Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church. He is also a 2016 graduate of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber Leadership Program and a 2017 graduate of CABL’s Leadership Louisiana, where he met many new friends and even some of JRE’s current investors!
Trey and his wife, Katie, have four young children and collectively enjoy traveling and tennis. When he’s not over-analyzing JRE’s next investment project, Trey can be found hunting, fishing, making wine & spirits, cooking, maintaining his saltwater reef aquarium, or playing tennis with his kids! Above all, Trey is an entrepreneur with a passion for his family, his community, and his faith.
