Lot. X & Lot Z

A levee is currently under construction to help protect these tracts from storm flooding by Lake Pontchartrain. Of the approximately 1,500 acres north of Interstate 10 that will be protected by the levee, about 750 of those are zoned rural - keeping the door open for potential residential development. The other 750 acres are part of the parish's Environmental Conversation District, which will protect land from development to maintain proper drainage. The 750 acres that is part of the Environmental Conservation District has been granted approval by the Federal Government to serve as mitigation for the 750 acres on I-10 opening that land for residential and commercial development.
